Make An Acrylic Fire Piston For About $1 (DIY VIDEO)

Make this fire piston for about 1 dollar,  a bit more if you have to buy the plastic but still very cheap to make. This fire piston is made out of acrylic and works every time, the bonus about this type of fire piston is you can see the ignition… very cool.

Fire Piston

A fire piston, sometimes called a fire syringe or a slam rod fire starter, is a device of ancient origin which has been “reinvented” many times during different eras and is used to kindle fire. It uses the principle of the heating of a gas (in this case air) by its rapid (adiabatic) compression to ignite a piece of tinder, which is then used to set light to kindling.
