There have been many great posts about land navigation on this website, some written by authors who have far more experience stomping around in the woods than I do. Today I wanted to take a moment to “drill down” and focus on one very important skill: How to Orient a Map.
Here is a great (and simplistic) video on how to orient and map, I like the fact that it is done outside utilizing visual references. As a bonus, this guy’s accent makes me want to buy something on late night TV for $19.95…but only if I get 2 for the price of 1.
